Angela Kim has worked as both a plaintiff's attorney and defense litigator during her legal career and has extensive trial experience. She is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale Hubbell and is a partner and shareholder in the Los Angeles office.
Her background includes the defense of many types of litigation, including medical malpractice, governmental entity work, broker's and agent's liability, professional negligence, construction defect, automobile liability (including uninsured/underinsured motorist, set-up and staged accidents), premises liability, strict products liability, toxic tort claims (e.g., carbon monoxide), asbestos claims, breast implant claims, coverage opinions, first party losses and examinations under oath, appellate work, wrongful termination, business and commercial litigation, entertainment, and employment related matters, intentional tort claims (e.g., defamation), subrogation, and a range of general civil liability matters.
She has successfully defended a number of Fortune 500 companies and various corporations at trial. She is result-oriented and takes a proactive approach to litigation combined with an uncompromising work ethic.
Angela obtained dismissal of an intentional tort, breach of contract and punitive damage case against a Corporation and Charity via Demurrer sustained on all causes of action without leave to amend.
She has successfully succeeded in having cases dismissed against Fortune 500 Corporations and was awarded fees, costs, and sanctions against plaintiffs. She had numerous Motions for Summary Judgment granted based on waivers, releases, and lack of duty, breach and causation. She has successfully succeeded in having cases dismissed against Government Entities and Corporations without incurring any discovery costs.
She has successfully defended a Corporation by an individual asserting fraud and misrepresentation and successfully negotiated licensing contracts for Fortune 500 Corporations. She has negotiated settlements for a Corporation in a multi-million dollar catastrophic suit with the settlement well within the malpractice limits and settled under the policy limits and has negotiated settlements for health care professionals with the settlement well within the malpractice limits and settled under the policy limits.
Angela is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Southern California Association of Defense Counsel.
