Karen G. Poppy is an associate in the Oakland office. Her areas of practice include healthcare law, insurance bad faith litigation, coverage, professional liability, personal injury and workers' compensation defense. Karen has a strong track record in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. She also has trial experience with several workers' compensation cases, with the majority resulting in defense verdicts.
Karen was recently named co-chair of the Ericksen Arbuthnot Workers’ Compensation practice group. She also participates in several of the firm’s practice groups, including Healthcare, Insurance Coverage, Personal Injury and Professional Liability. She is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of California, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th District.
Karen is a member of the California State Bar and is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the California Bar. She is also a member of the Contra Costa Bar Association, the Alameda Bar Association, and the California Society for Healthcare Risk Management (CSHRM). She received her undergraduate degree from Smith College and her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law.
